The TSS uPVC Fixed Window is engineered for openings where uninterrupted daylight and clear sightlines matter more than ventilation. 01Overview

The TSS uPVC Fixed Window is engineered for openings where uninterrupted daylight and clear sightlines matter more than ventilation. With no opening sash, the glazing sits directly within a slim multi-chambered uPVC frame, maximising the glass-to-frame ratio and delivering a clean, contemporary aperture that floods interiors with natural light.

Because the unit is permanently sealed, there are no moving parts, gaskets under load or locking hardware to maintain — which makes it one of the most airtight, weathertight and thermally stable window types available. The multi-chambered profile traps still air to limit heat transfer, while continuous compression seals and a fully bonded glazing pocket eliminate draughts and water ingress. The result is a quiet, energy-efficient infill that performs reliably for decades with effectively no upkeep.

Supplied to EN 14351-1 with CE marking, the system is specified for stairwells, façade infill panels, feature openings and high-level glazing across commercial and residential projects. TSS supplies fixed uPVC windows across Europe, North America and beyond, made to your sizes, glazing build-up and colour, with full technical documentation.

03Applications

Stairwells

Brings safe, even daylight to stair cores and circulation zones where opening sashes are unnecessary and access is limited.

Feature openings

Creates bold, fully glazed architectural apertures with minimal frame interruption for maximum visual impact.

Façade infill

Fills curtain-wall and panel openings as a sealed, energy-efficient glazed unit within the building envelope.

High-level glazing

Ideal for clerestory and out-of-reach positions where ventilation is not required and maintenance access is restricted.

Borrowed-light partitions

Transfers daylight between internal spaces while maintaining a fully sealed, draught-free separation.

04Features & benefits

Maximum daylight

The slim frame and high glass-to-frame ratio admit more natural light and broaden sightlines across the opening.

Fully sealed

With no opening sash, the unit achieves outstanding airtightness and watertightness for a stable, draught-free interior.

Energy efficient

Multi-chambered profiles and insulated glazing limit heat loss, supporting lower running costs and better comfort.

Slim frame

A refined, low-profile sightline keeps the aperture clean and contemporary without sacrificing strength.

Maintenance-free

No hardware, hinges or moving seals means decades of reliable service with only routine cleaning.

05Standards & compliance
  • EN 14351-1

Windows and external pedestrian doors — product standard governing weather performance, thermal transmittance, acoustic, load-bearing and CE-marking requirements.

  • EN 12608

Unplasticised PVC (PVC-U) profiles for the fabrication of windows and doors — classification, requirements and test methods for the profile itself.

  • EN 12207 / 12208 / 12210

Classification of air permeability, watertightness and resistance to wind load for windows.

  • EN 13501-1

Reaction-to-fire classification (Euroclass) of construction products applied to the uPVC profile.

  • ISO 9001

Quality management system governing fabrication, traceability and consistency of supply.

06Installation & handling
  • Verify opening dimensions and squareness before fixing; allow a consistent perimeter expansion gap for sealant and movement.
  • Fix through the frame into sound structure using approved frame anchors or fixing lugs at spacings appropriate to the unit size and wind load.
  • Pack and shim at fixing points to keep the frame straight and avoid distortion of the sealed glazing pocket.
  • Seal the external perimeter with a compatible low-modulus sealant over backing rod; close the internal joint to maintain the airtight line.
  • Handle glazed units by the frame, keep upright in transit, and protect surfaces from site contamination until handover.
  • Add galvanised steel reinforcement for larger spans or higher wind-load classes in line with the system specification.

08Quality & supply

Stock white profile configurations are typically available on short lead times, while colour, shaped and bespoke glazing builds are made to order to your schedule of sizes. Samples, corner sections and glazing references can be provided ahead of order, and every supply is accompanied by full documentation — Technical Data Sheet, declaration of performance for CE marking, applicable EN test classifications and warranty. TSS manages export packing, marking and shipping to Europe, North America and beyond, with complete export paperwork to support smooth customs clearance and on-site verification.

09Frequently asked

uPVC Fixed Window
questions.

No. A fixed light is a permanently sealed, non-opening unit. It is chosen where you want daylight and views but do not need ventilation; pair it with opening casements elsewhere if airflow is required.

With a standard double-glazed sealed unit the combined frame and glass U-value is typically 1.2–1.4 W/m²K, and lower values are achievable with low-E coatings, argon fill or triple glazing.

Single glazing for internal or sheltered positions, and double or laminated low-E sealed units up to roughly 24–28 mm for thermal, acoustic and safety performance.

Maximum sizes depend on glazing weight, wind-load class and reinforcement. Larger apertures use galvanised steel inserts and thicker glass; we confirm achievable sizes against your wind loads at enquiry.

Yes. Because there is no hardware to operate or maintain and the unit is fully sealed, fixed lights are ideal for clerestory, stairwell and other out-of-reach openings.

Yes. Units are supplied to EN 14351-1 with CE marking, using PVC-U profiles to EN 12608, and are accompanied by the relevant air, water and wind classifications.

Yes. We supply across Europe, North America and beyond, made to your sizes and finishes, with export-ready packing and full technical and shipping documentation.
